ALBERTO SOLIS SR.
Heaven gained a new angel on October 16, 2022, as Alberto Solis Sr. passed away
peacefully at his home in Laredo, Texas.
Born in Laredo on February 19, 1943, Alberto (Beto) grew up on his family's ranch.
He lived a long and full life living in Colorado and Michigan for many years before coming back home to Texas.
Family was the most important thing to Alberto, and it is what he dedicated his life to after retiring from an
extensive career as a bulldozer operator. He had a love for Tejano music, dances, and the Dallas Cowboys
which he instilled in his family. Alberto always knew how to make his grandchildren laugh, always had time
to listen to them, and always made them feel loved. He was an amazing man who lived life to the fullest
and touched the hearts of many people. He leaves behind wonderful memories that will forever
live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Alberto was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Guadalupe
(Lupita) Solis, his beloved sons Ernesto Ramon Solis, and Samuel Solis.
He is survived by his sons, Alberto (Guadalupe) Solis, Gilberto Solis, and Humberto
Solis. His sister Dolores (Eduardo) Valdez, and his stepdaughter Nena Gamez. He
is also survived by grandchildren Emily Solis, Gilbert Solis, Carlos Garcia,
Valentina Solis, Cindy Solis, Alex (Debbie) Gutierrez, Sara (Jaime) Garcia-Rivera,
Leslie (Matthew) Ibarra, Ernesto (Gabriella) Solis, Brenda Solis, Alberto (Carina)
Solis, Jennifer Solis, Raymond (Vanessa) Solis, Erica (Guillermo) Garcia, Eduardo
(Elizabeth) Valdez, and cuates Roberto and Daniel Gamez.
He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, and friends who
will greatly miss him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave
. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Gilbert Solis, Carlos
Garcia, Ernesto Solis, Alberto Solis, Raymond Solis, Eduardo Valdez, and Alex
Gutierrez.
Honorary pallbearers will be his sons: Alberto Solis, Gilberto Solis,
Humberto Solis, Guillermo Garcia and Eduardo E. Valdez.
