ALFONSO M. ZUNIGA Alfonso M. Zuniga, 96, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012 in Austin, Texas. Mr. Zuniga was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo for most of his life. Mr. Zuniga was a Veteran of the World War II having served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Raphaela R. Zuniga who passed away 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Rosa Maria Zuniga. Grandson, Guillermo Torres. Also surviving him are nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 6 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012 officiated by Rev. Deacon David Vargas in the funeral home chapel. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.
