Sister Alicia Cruz Rodríguez, as she was endearingly known, met her heavenly Father on  June 25, 2021, at the age of 83 years. Alicia was a devout christian and member of the Pentecostals of Laredo church for many years. She passionately shared the Good News to the female inmates at the Webb County jail for many years. Anyone who knew Sis Alicia can attest that she fought a good fight, finished her course and kept her faith, according to

2 Timothy 4:7. Serving her husband, children and Lord was her true passion. As a pastime, Sis Alicia enjoyed traveling to Moorhead, Minnesota every summer.

Alicia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Santana M. Rodríguez; her parents, Arturo Cruz and Dolores García; sons, Santana Rodríguez Jr, Arturo Rodríguez, José Abel Rodríguez and her daughter, Alicia Rodríguez.

Alicia is survived by her her children; Rosa (Gerardo) Gaytán, Ezequiel (Ana) Rodríguez, Jesus (Mari) Rodríguez, Blanca McCann, Beatriz (Matthew) Osland, Mauro (Rosa Isela) Rodríguez, Raquel (Alfredo) Mendez, Lea (Eduardo) González, Abraham (Ileana) Rodríguez, and two grandsons who knew her as Ama- Juan Jose Rodríguez and David Rodríguez, as well as 27 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. Siblings surviving Alicia are her brother, Sabino (Eloisa) Cruz, Amparo Martínez, Maria López, Juan Manuel Hernandez and Martha (Jorge) Tovar, plus other relatives and saints of her house of worship.

Her children honor their sister, Blanca McCann, for the loving and untiring care afforded to their mother. They also wish to thank Jessica Moreno and Erik from Gentle Hand Home Health Care for the special attention they provided during their mother's last months under their care.  Her children are grateful to The Pentecostals of Laredo, Lifepoint Sanctuary (Moorhead, Minnesota), Piedra Angular and Jordan River Church for keeping them in their prayers.

Pallbearers include: Juan Jose Rodríguez, Partick Isaiah Rodríguez, Ezequiel Rodríguez, Jesus Angel Rodríguez Jr, José Abel Rodríguez Jr, Marco Antonio Escamilla Jr, Mauro Rodríguez, Alfredo Mendez Jr, Abraham Rodríguez, David Rodríguez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and a religious service, officiated by Senior Pastor Robert M. Esquibel at 9:00  a.m at the Pentecostals of Laredo, located at 1820 Boston St. Committal services will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
