ALVARO SANTIAGO ARRIAGA Alvaro Santiago Arriaga, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 52. Mr. Arriaga was a loving father, grandfather, friend and a great mentor. He was a person devoted to his sport of softball, in which he enjoyed playing and watching the sport. So much that he took time to coach the 5th grade girls softball team at Col. Santos Benavides Lady Broncos. He also was the proud owner and manager of De Luna's Garage in which he ran most of his life. He was a man who people looked up to, he always gave assistance to whomever needed help, and never asked for anything back. He will be greatly missed but not forgotten. He is preceded in death by his parents Alvaro Arriaga and Luz M. Arriaga. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years of marriage Janie Arriaga. His children: Alvaro ( Vaneli Orduna) Arriaga Jr. and Priscilla (Victor Inguanzo) Arriaga. His brothers and sisters: Janie (Joe) Barrera, Leticia Ramirez, Ascencio Arriaga, Lourdes (Gaspar) Hernandez and Juan Jose Arriaga. Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
