ALVARO GUTIERREZ Alvaro Gutierrez, 31, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at a local hospital. Mr. Gutierrez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. He is preceded in death by maternal grandfather; Guadalupe Saldivar and paternal grandparents, Alvaro and Hortencia Gutierrez and by his aunt Alice Ortiz. He is survived by mother: Lucia Saldivar and father Alejandro Gutierrez, his maternal grandmother, Ofelia Saldivar. Sister; Lucia (Alfredo) De la Cruz, and brothers: Alex (Mamie) Gutierrez and Guadalupe (Olga) Gutierrez. Nephews and nieces; Clarissa Borrego, Louie Borrego and Araceli Borrego, Bella Gutierrez, Keyanna Cuellar, Danika Gutierrez and Lexie Gutierrez. Also surviving him are his uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. Visitation and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held on Monday December 23, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. , funeral services will begin departing at 10:30 am from the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside chapel, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
