AMELIA G. ESCALANTE Amelia G. Escalante, 80, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Escalante was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Jose and Tomasa Gonzalez. Aunt, Severa Silva. She is survived by her children, Patricia (Juan Jose) Cruz, Nicolas Polo, Fernando Ordonez, Juan (Olga) Ordonez and Manuel (Rosa) Escalante. 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sister, Irma Munoz. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapel, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
