Mrs. Amelia Flores, aged 75, peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, in Laredo, Texas. Born in Villa Hidalgo, Coahuila, Mexico, Mrs. Flores made Laredo her cherished home for most of her life.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth and love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her family will forever hold dear the memories of her gentle spirit and unwavering care.

Mrs. Flores was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lorenzo and Carmen Garza; her loving husband, Manuel Flores; and siblings Maria Elena Gutierrez, Ramiro Garza, Arturo Garza, Hector Garza, and Lorenzo Garza, Jr.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Jose Manuel (Kathryn) Flores, Dora Elia (Benito) Sandoval, Cristobal Flores, Graciela (Mario) Zaragoza, Arangelio (Blanca Angelica Renteria) Flores, and Patricia Vanessa (Pablo, Jr.+) Carrillo; her 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings Alejandro (Lourdes) Garza, Araceli Castillon, and Obdulia Garza de Martinez; as well as her devoted caregiver, Yolanda Sanchez. She also leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends who cherished her presence.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Satellite Southeast Healthcare, Dr. Oscar Perez, South Texas Personal Care Service Inc., Dr. Michael Tijerina, Dr. Carlos Cigarroa, Dr. Elbert M. Belk, Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa, Vara Hospice, Doctors Hospital of Laredo, and Laredo Medical Center for their compassionate care and support.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hernandez, Lopez & Sons Northside Chapels, located at 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave., with a Vigil of the Deceased at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the chapel to San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Amelia Flores’ legacy of love and kindness remains a beacon of light for all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
