Obituary

AMELIA I. VALDEZ
Amelia I. Valdez joined her husband, Felix Eduardo "Lalo" Valdez, in eternal glory, on Sunday, September 3, 2017, in Laredo, Texas. Amelia was born in Laredo and worked as a Teacher's Aide for the Laredo Independent School District, for 20+ years, before she retired. Amelia had a passion for music, dancing, having her coffee and sitting on her very comfortable maroon lazy boy every morning to watch Pro 8 news and The Price is Right. Amelia will be greatly missed by her daughter, Nora Amelia Rodriguez, her granddaughters, Jessica Ann and Joann Lizette Rodriguez and many more friends and relatives that hold her dearly in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband of 40+ years, Felix Eduardo "Lalo" Valdez, her sister, Alicia Martinez, Luis Ydrogo and Roberto Ydrogo.
She is survived by her only daughter, Nora Amelia (Jose) Rodriguez, granddaughters, Jessica Ann and Joann Lizette Rodriguez; sisters, Esther Y. (Domingo) Medina, Maria Teresa Ydrogo, Estela Y. Gutierrez; brother, Matias (Geli) Ydrogo Jr. and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

If anyone would like to wear purple or Lilac to honor her memory on the days of her services. The family would appreciate the gesture.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel.
