Anastacio Salinas was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the age of 84.
He was born on April 15, 1940, to Santiago Salinas and Juanita Hernandez in Oilton, Texas.
Anastacio honorably served in the U.S. Army and was honorable discharged. He studied at Laredo Junior
College with the VA initiative assistance program. He then worked in Uniary for 9 ½ years testing tires at
his speed on race tracks. He then worked for Killiam Oil for over 20 years as an oil field supervisor.
Anastacio spent his spare time in good spirits, making people laugh and enjoyed drinking coffee with his
family and loved ones. He enjoyed watching old western movies and enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash
Ring of Fire and many more. He had a great love for animals as he enjoyed raising, feeding and breeding
livestock.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago Salinas and Juanita Hernandez; his brothers
Ernesto Salinas, Jose Santiago Salinas, Ramiro Salinas, Juan Salinas, Fernando Salinas; sister Graciela
Lopez; sisters-in- law, Maria del Refugio Salinas, Inga Bord Salinas, Angelica Salinas and brother-in-law
Adan Chavera Sr, and nephew Roberto Rene Salinas.
He leaves behind his loving wife of over 50 years, Maria Elena Salinas, his daughters Margot (Dennis)
Sanders of Atlanta, Georgia and Monica (Andrew Frost) Knight of Oklahoma. His Grandchildren Elias
Salinas, Kassandra Bali, Felicia (Justin) Burdorf-Parks and Tyrone Knight; Great-Grandchildren Rowan
Salinas, Luna Salinas, Amelia (Mia) Ramos, Anastasia Parks and Adeline Parks. He also leaves behind his
sister Catalina Chavera and numerous brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other
loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels at 800 Boston St. Laredo, Texas 78041. A chapel service was held in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Deacon Lenard Aguillon, before committal services and interment which followed at the Magnolia Cemetery in Mirando City, Texas.
Pallbearers were: Dennis Sanders, Elias Salinas, Ernesto Javier Salinas, Eduardo Juventino Salinas, Juan
Salinas Jr. and Gerardo Chavera.
