ANITA C. RODRIGUEZ Anita C. Rodriguez, 82, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at a local hospital. Anita was born in Zapata County and had been a resident of Laredo all of her life. She graduated from Holding Institute in 1949. She was a loyal and dedicated employee to the Laredo Mercy Hospital, working for 42 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Bernarda G. Cavazos. Brothers and Sisters, Trinidad (Manuel) C. Rodriguez, Manuela "Lita" (Ireneo) Guevara, Ercilia Cavazos, Rogelio (Aida) Cavazos and Ruben Cavazos. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years of marriage, Vidal Rodriguez. Sons, Carlos G. Rodriguez, Vidal (Miram) Rodriguez, Jr. and Ricardo (Carmen) Rodriguez. Grandchildren, Brianna Rodriguez and Alex Rodriguez. Also surviving her are numerous nephews, nieces, numerous other relatives and many friends. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Joaquin Cigarroa, Joseph Camero and all doctors, nursing staff and Laredo Medical Center ICU who treated her with dedicated medical devotion. Also thanks on behalf of Anita's Family to her caregivers that oversaw her care for numerous years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
