Obituary

ANTONIO "POP" CHAVEZ
Antonio "Pop" Chavez, 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 21,2018 in Laredo, Texas.
Mr. Chavez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a lifelong resident.
He was a proud veteran who served with the United States Army with the BTRY C 92nd Arty from 1960 up until his honorable discharge in 1966. For many years, Mr. Chavez was employed as a Bus Driver with UISD and with the Community Action Agency, for Webb County. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Teodora Chavez.
Siblings, Ruperto, Jesus, Magdalena, Virginia, Armando, Fernando, Ernesto and Humberto Chavez.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years of marriage, Dora Chavez.
Children, Sylvia Chavez, Elvia (Adrian) Lopez, Grace (Moctezuma) Rodriguez and Cynthia (Lewis) Wagner.
Grandchildren, Kayla Lopez and Nathaniel Lopez, Adan Rodriguez, Ivan Rodriguez and Emma Rodriguez, Ashton Wagner and Anthony Wagner.
Brothers, Miguel Chavez and Jose (Tina) Chavez.

Antonio Chavez's family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Monica Yvette Garza and family, Alicia (Martin) Wilson and family and to Elena (Carlos) Flores and family And his faithful canine companion, whom he cherished dearly, "Chico".

Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Committal services will be held on a later date.
