Arabela Allred, born on March 31, 1945, entered into eternal rest on August 19, 2025, at the age of 80.
Arabela was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. Arabela was a member of the 1963 graduating class at Martin High School and was a proud MHS cheerleader.
On June 4, 1966, Arabela married her high school sweetheart, Thomas, and the two were married for fifty-nine years. She was a loving mother of four who always made her family a priority. Arabela had a deep faith in our Lord and Blessed Mother. She taught her children to do the same and modeled loving kindness to everyone she met. Arabela and Thomas were one of the founding families of St. Patrick Catholic Church and were devoted parishioners. For over thirty years, Arabela devoted her time and talent to Mary Help of Christians School, serving the school in the finance department and as a member of the Advisory Board. Her legacy lives on in the families she nurtured and the countless lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents Raul and Hortencia R. Rodriguez.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Allred; her siblings Maria Luisa "Lulu" († Jim) Garcia, Raul "Chito" Rodriguez, Jr., Nora († Horacio Jr.) Acevedo, Jorge († Rosaura) Rodriguez, Sergio (Edna) Rodriguez, Edmundo (Dolores) Rodriguez, Edna Rodriguez, Arturo Rodriguez, Arnoldo Rodriguez, and Ezequiel (Diana) Rodriguez; her children, Deborah Allred (John) Mallon, Dinorah (Mel) Velazquez, Denice (Filiberto) Lopez, Patrick David (Melissa) Allred; her grandchildren Katherine Louise Mallon, Brianna Casias, Alexandra Lopez, Kristen Mallon Castro, Filiberto Lopez II, Levi Casias, and Patricia Dorothy Allred; and her great grandchildren Emilia Lucia Castro and Jose Luis Castro III.
The family will receive condolences on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., where a rosary will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
