Armandina "Nina" R. Gutierrez January 4, 1916 - November 13, 2013 Armandina "Nina" R. Gutierrez entered into eternal rest and into the arms of our Lord on November 13, 2013 at the age of 97, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. On November 12, 1939, she married the love of her life, Sinecio Gutierrez III, at St. Augustine Church. She was a dedicated housewife and a devoted mother to six children. She was a woman of great devotion and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and prayed the rosary daily. She was an active member of Christ the King Church and served in the Altar Society. She was an avid supporter of her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruperto and Corina J. Rodriguez; her brothers Leopoldo Rodriguez, Zaragoza (Guadalupe) Rodriguez, and Lorenzo (Rita) Rodriguez; her sister Evangelina Rodriguez; her son Sinecio Gutierrez IV; and her husband Sinecio Gutierrez III. She is survived by her brother, Patricio (Lidia) Rodriguez; her sister-in-law, Leila Rodriguez, and her brother-in-law, Jose Roberto Gutierrez; her children, Velma (Oscar O.) Martinez, Lilia Turner, Elia Hilda (Zaragoza) Martinez, Dr. J. Santiago (Linda) Gutierrez, and Rolando (Diedra) Gutierrez. Also surviving her are many grandchildren, Geri (Ryan) Abdallah, Oscar O. (Eileen) Martinez Jr., Christy (Apolinar) Navarro, Larry (Stephanie) Turner Jr., Michelle (Paul) Steele, Renee (Michael) Yocca, Michael Roy (Patricia) Turner, Bobby Turner, Patrick Turner, Dr. David Zaragoza Martinez, Roberto Andres (Lorena) Martinez, Dr. James J. Gutierrez, Lora (Dr. David) Benavides, Dr. Michael J. Gutierrez, Andrew Gutierrez, Catherine (Brian) Abshier, and Jacqueline Gutierrez; Larry Turner Sr., Nadia Saenz and Brittany Karimi. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank her devoted caretakers: Graciela Rocha, Tommy Gutierrez Garcia, and Minerva Rojas. A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick Church on Saturday, November 16, 2013. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 pm and a mass at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to the Bethany House or St. Patrick Church. Funeral services are under the direction of the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave.
