Obituary

ARMANDO "EL GUERO" BENAVIDES Armando Benavides, 57, or "El Guero" as he was affectionetly known by all his family and friends, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Mr. Benavides was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He had been employed as a bus driver for Laredo Webb County HeadStart for many years. He will always be remembered as a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will continue to be in our hearts and mind. We will never forget the lessons instilled by him, he taught us the importance of family and friends and the importance of staying true to yourself. He is preceded in death by his father Mauro Benavides, by his two brothers Mauro Benavides Jr. and Javier Benavides and by his mother and father-in-law Julio and Juanita De Hoyos. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years of marriage; Yolanda D. Benavides. By his daughter and son: Janie (Adrian) Abrego and Armando Gerardo Benavides. His Mother, Lydia G. Benavides. His four grandchildren: Armando Gerardo Benavides Jr., Adrianna Abrego, Alyssa Abrego and Amanda Abrego. His brothers and sisters: Daniel (Ninfa) Benavides, Ismael Benavides and Rosa Maria (Gilberto) Juarez. And his Brothers-in-law: Guadalupe "Lupe" , Julio, Humberto and Javier De Hoyos. Also surviving him are uncles, aunts, nieces, nepehews, cousins, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Laredo City Cemetery. www.HernandezLopezFH.com
