Obituary

ARMANDO JALOMO SR. Armando Jalomo Sr., entered into the kingdom of God on October 2, 2012, from his earliest humble beginnings at the Rancho Colorado in Webb County, where he cultivated the base of family values that structured his life into the man he became. Work came at a very early age and continued until his retirement. Short in stature but big in talent when it came to marketing he quickly gain the reputation of everyone that came into contact with "Jalomito". During his early years he became one of the best softball fast pitchers in South Texas, taking him all over the region and Northern Mexico playing for several teams. Eventually as he settle into his most gratifying profession as a sales representative for several major car dealerships in the Laredo area, becoming a top salesman for 24 years at Sames Motor Company. A steward of the land together with his wife Mary, he was most cheerful when he would be out in the open space of the family ranch. An avid beloved Dallas Cowboy fan, he was always ready for game time. He has been greatly interested in the lives of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and would always look forward to seeing them grow and change in the future. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Bernabe and Ninfa Jalomo. Grandson, Nicolas "Nicky" Jalomo. Brothers, Ignacio Jalomo and Eduardo Jalomo. Sisters, Olga Escobedo, Argentina Mendiola, Juanita Morales, Eva Ramirez and Armandina Jalomo. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years of marriage, Mary C. Jalomo. Daughter, Rosie J. Dovalina. Son, Armando Jalomo Jr. Grandchildren, Gracie J. (Javier) Pena, Cindy (Fernando) Mendoza, Lori (George) Dovalina, Rosie D. (Ron) Castilleja, Cordy D. (Carlos) Gomez, Guillermo "Willie" Jalomo, Oscar Jalomo and Nancy Jalomo. 18 great-grandchildren. 1 great-great grandson. 2 brothers, Jose Jalomo Sr. and Gilberto Jalomo Sr. Sister, Irma Martinez. Also surviving him are numerous other family members and many friends. John 11:23-26 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 departing from funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
