Obituary

ARNALDO GUIDO BARRERA JR. Arnaldo Guido Barrera Jr., 58 years old, loving husband and a caring father, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Ernie, as he was affectionately called, was a hardworking man who loved to explore the outdoors. His favorite hobbies included camping, hunting, fishing, traveling and working with his hands. He was always ready to help a friend with a smiling face and as a Good Samaritan he would not ignore a stranger in need. Un hombre de gran corazon, un hombre de familia. He has supported his family through hard labor, good food, and tremendous love. Family came first for him as he worked diligently out of town for most of his life. His delicious barbeques will be missed. The love that seemed to radiate from his body will never be forgotten. He worked for Union Pacific for over 30 years. Mr. Barrera had seniority in several positions in the System Bridge Construction Department. He is preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents, Pedro Barrera and Marta Barrera. Maternal grandparents, Manuel Saucedo and Carolina Saucedo. He is survived by his loving wife, Ofelia A. Barrera. Children, Ernie Edgar Barrera and Andre Guido Barrera. Parents, Arnaldo and Bertha Barrera, Sr. Sisters, Aida Barrera and Ana Laura (Robert) Garcia of Pagoso Springs, Colorado. Nephew and Niece, Robert Garcia and Lila Garcia. Aunts and Uncles, Ernesto (Oralia) Saucedo of San Antonio, Texas, Hector (Socorro) Barrera, Laura Barrera, Juan R. Barrera, Alba Barrera, Guillermo Barrera, Ruben Barrera, Cristina Castaneda and Luis Barrera. Brothers-in-Law, Mario Aguilar, Marty (Angeles) Aguilar and Sam (Elsa) Jaimez. Also surviving him are cousins, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. A Chapel service will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013 officiated by Rev.
