Obituary

AURELIO MARTINEZ, JR. Aurelio Martinez, Jr., 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Martinez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. Our Father and Grandfather was a wonderful man. He believed that family always came first. He was an unselfish gentleman who made countless sacrifices for his loved ones. Day in day out, he worked hard to put food on the table, taught good moral values, provided love, and gave unlimited happiness. He not only cared and loved his family, but expressed a bond with his brothers, sisters, and friends that was insurmountable. Our dad and grandfather showed us to love, care and help all in need. He was a paragon of hope for all and was definitely one of a kind. Aurelio was a man with an infectious humor that would light up the darkest room. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelio and Candelaria Martinez. Wife, Dolores Martinez. 4 Brothers, Miguel Martinez, Jesus Martinez, Jorge Martinez and Antonio Martinez. 3 Sisters, Maria Concepcion Lozano, Aurora Martinez and Amelia Moreno. She is survived by her children, Javier (Ana) Martinez, Gerardo Aurelio "Jerry" (Zelma) Martinez, Fernando (Sylvia) Martinez, Linda (Jose Luis) Banuelos, Leticia (Mario) Espinosa and Luis Gerardo (Cristina) Banuelos. 14 grandchildren, Cesar, Linda, Leticia, Christian, and Julian Banuelos, Clarissa and Gerardo Martinez, Lizette, Kimberly, and Fernando Martinez, Jennifer, Melissa, Michelle, and Javier Martinez. 21 Great-grandchildren. 2 Sisters, Emma (Antonio) Barrios and Beatriz Salas. Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 departing from funeral home chapel.
