Aurora C. Casarez, 76, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017, surrounded by family and friends, at Doctors Hospital of Laredo, after a short illness.
Mrs. Casarez had been a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas.
She was actively involved in the lives of her children, family, friends and local community. She was a person who was always seen around town smiling and making people laugh. She, and her husband Ramon, enjoyed eating lunch at Obregón's Restaurant and at Danny's on McPherson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fidel and Maria Teresa Castro.
Brothers, Xavier Castro, Roberto Castro and Fidel Castro.
Her beloved husband, of 56 years of marriage, Ramon Casarez - only 37 days earlier on September 01, 2017.
She is survived by her children, Maria Teresa Casarez Saldaña, Cynthia Mercedes (Samuel) Alcorta, Laura Araceli (Homero) Flores, Pablo (Megan) Casarez and Patricia Raquel (Mamoon) Lodhi.
Grandchildren, Jesus Ramon "Jesse" Flores, Daniela Renee Salinas, Valeria Alcorta, Sammy Alcorta, Cristian Alcorta, Victor Daniel Flores, Gabriela Salinas, Sergio Alcorta, Sasha Alcorta and Andrea Saldaña.
Great-grandchildren, Abigail Breanna Flores, Tristan Ramon Torres, Ayden Alexzander Botello, and Camila Rose Molina.
Siblings, Berta Vasquez, Rosa Ramirez (Carlos) and Reynaldo (Irma) Castro.
Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15 from 4 to 9 p.m. with a Vigil of the Deceased taking place at 7 p.m. at the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017, departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church, 3502 Sanders Ave. A small breakfast will be celebrated in her honor at the Hall next to the Church. Committal services will be held on a later date.
