BERTHA OTILIA GALLEGOS

Bertha Otilia Gallegos, age 87, passed away on August 3, 2022. Bertha was born in Laredo, Texas on December 13, 1934, to Antonio and Concepcion Gallegos.

She is preceded in death by her parents,brother, Antonio Gallegos Jr. sister, Pauline G. (James) Knopick, and niece, Yvonne D. Knopick.

She is survived by her niece, Debra (Joe) Berlanga and nephew, James L. Knopick Jr. Grandnieces and grandnephews, Shannon B. Berlanga, Ryan M. Berlanga, Brandace Boren, Brittany Wiggins, Kelsee Cantu and Adam Knopick. Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.

Bertha was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was a devout and passionate Catholic and was a true believer in God. She loved her dogs RUBY and CHUIQUITA unconditionally, as well as the people closest to her heart. She enjoyed traveling, cruises, celebrating special holidays with family, watching her novelas, playing loteria, and reading books.

Her greatest achievements were working for Kress and Woolworth's Stores where she retired as a Sales Associate for over 25 yrs. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, loyalty, and a strength that will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
