BLANCA NERY GONZALEZ
Blanca Nery Gonzalez, 73, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020.
Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. She was employed in the retail services, mainly at Las Novedades and Zorba, for over 50 years. She was affectionately called "Blanquita" by her friends and enjoyed buying scratch off tickets on a daily basis. She enjoyed spending time with her family and granddaughters and selflessly put others' needs before her own always. Those that knew her loved her because she was always willing to lend a helping hand or share some sweet bread and a "cafecito" with them. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, of 40 years, Joaquin F. Gonzalez Sr.
Parents, Edelio Rangel Cantu and Dora Nery Rangel Garza.
Sister, Maria Julia Rangel.
She is survived by her children, Blanca Nery Gonzalez, Joaquin Felipe Gonzalez Jr. and Jorge Alberto Gonzalez.
Granddaughters, Jacqueline Ashley Gonzalez, Kassandra Michelle Gonzalez and Alexandra Nicole Gonzalez.
Siblings, Jorge (Tere) Rangel, Leticia Rangel (Eduardo Ramirez), Dora Nery Rangel, Jackeline (Salvador) Trevino, Esmeralda (Oscar) Martinez, Edelio (Mayte) Rangel Jr. and Xotchitl Rangel.
Also surviving her are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitations will be limited to 40 people inside our funeral home.
It is preferred for minor children not be allowed to attend services.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
