BLANCA YRUEGAS
Blanca Yruegas, 85, entered into Heaven on Wednesday, August 07, 2019. Blanca was born in Lampazos de Naranjo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Blanca enjoyed a life of learning and service. She attended secondary and preparatory school in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. She continued her eduacation in Monterrey, Mexico at the Law School of the University of Nuevo Leon. She returned to Nuevo Laredo to practice law. She served her beloved Nuevo Laredo Community for many years, first as a Public Defender and later as Justice of the Peace. She continued her public service as Director of the "Casa de la Aseguranza".
After becoming a U.S. citizen, she continued her learning journey at TAMIU where she earned a BS degree in Social Work with a minor in Psicology. She served her new home by working at the Texas Department of Human Services (DARS) for 17 years.
Blanca has a thirst for knowledge. After her retirement, she once again enrolled at TAMIU to pursue her dream of obtaining a Master's Degree in Spanish Literature. This was a very special time that she enjoyed immensely.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Reynaldo Yruegas Gonzalez and Clementina Vazquez de Yruegas, her brother Reynaldo Yruegas Vazquez, sister-in-law, Nancy Martinez de Yruegas and nephew, Salvador Yruegas Martinez.
She is survived by her sisters: Clementina Y. Campbell (Robert, Josefina Y. Lara (Manuel), and Lucila Y. Howerton (Thomas).
Nephews and nieces: Reynaldo Yruegas M. (Noemi), Sergio Yruegas M., Nancy Yruegas, Andre (Jose Luis), Adriana Lara Ortega (Julio), Manuel Lara III. (Cordelia), Gabriela Lara Zuniga (E. Rene+), Jerry Lara (Janie), Robert Campbell, David Campbell, and Thomas Howerton Jr.
She is also survived by grandnephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Reynaldo Yruegas M., Manuel Lara III, Jerry Lara, Matias Morales, Manuel Lara IV., and Julio Ortega.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2019. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal services will be held at a later date.
