CARLOS AGUILAR SR. Carlos Aguilar Sr., passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas at the young age of 31. Mr. Aguilar was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He attended and graduated from Martin High School "Class of 1999". He had been with the Army National Guard since 1999 and was assigned to Company C 3rd Battalion 141st Infantry. He was decorated with the Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/ Campaign star, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device and the NATO Medal. While in service he reached the rank of SPC . He was deployed to Afghanistan and served from 2009 to 2010 and then he deployed to Iraq from 2010 to 2011. He was also employed with Exterran Oil Field as a mechanic for the past several months. A dedicated soldier he was an active member with the South Texas Afghanistan and Iraq Veterans Association. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eduardo Aguilar and paternal grandmother, Magdelena H. Perez. Maternal grandfather, Jesus M. Rodriguez and uncle, Manuel Aguilar. He is survived by his parents, Jose Luis Aguilar Sr. and Eudelia R. Aguilar. His common-law wife, Vanessa Arce. Children, Carlos Aguilar Jr., Alyssa Nicole Aguilar, Andrew Aguilar, Marcus Aguilar, Kaylee Aguilar, Carla Aguilar and Karime Aguilar. Brother and Sisters, Jose Luis Aguilar Jr. (Adela), Antonio Aguilar (Cynthia), Maricela (Luis) Reyes, Alfredo Aguilar (Maribel) and Paulo Aguilar (Blanca). Also surviving him are numerous nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery with full Military honors.
