MRS. MARTHA CHAPA
Mr. Carlos Chapa passed away in San Antonio, Texas on February 13, 2021.
Mrs. Martha Chapa passed away in Laredo, Texas on February 9, 2021.
Mr. Chapa was born in Oilton, Texas and Mrs. Chapa was born in Chicago, Illinois. Both were long life residents of Laredo, Texas.
Martha Chapa was a devoted wife & mother.
She was married for 43 years to Carlos V Chapa & together they had 4 children they cherished, Carlos, Marco, Roberto and Carla. 
Martha was the "THE BEST" homemaker & wrote the book on hospitality. She loved to bring the family together with her cooking& freshly brewed coffee & filled everyone's heart with love & laughter. 
She was the rock of the family & had a heart of gold. Martha proudly served her community by devoting her time to her children's schools, Mary Help of Christians & Nye Elementary where she eventually became part of the staff & was truly adored. 
Martha was the happiest when her children were around. They truly filled her heart.

Carlos V Chapa, also known as, "El Capi", "Commander", & "Sky King", was an aviation legend. 
He began his career as a private pilot in 1971 at only 22 years of age. 
He flew for 46 years & retired in 2017. Carlos lived a very active lifestyle. 
He enjoyed his daily morning jogs & loved to rescue animals. 
 
Carlos embodied strength, determination, courage & the ability to help others. He was a great man & true friend to all. 
Mrs. Chapa is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Refugio and Alicia Hernandez.
Mr. Chapa is preceded by his parents, Manuel and Maria Elena Chapa.
They are survived by their children, Carlos Chapa Jr., Marcos Antonio Chapa, Roberto Carlos Chapa and Carla Cristal Chapa.
Also surviving them are other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2020 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased, officiated by Rev. Deacon Leonard Aguillon, will be held at 11 a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. An Inurnment service will follow at the columbarium will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
