Mrs. Carolina Segovia Alvarez, 78, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at a local hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Alvarez was born in Cotulla, Texas but had been a lifelong resident of Laredo. She had been employed with the Laredo Independent School District Food Service Department for many years, She later went on to work at the Bakery Department with H.E.B. She enjoyed life to the fullest.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years of marriage Mr. Manuel A. Alvarez Sr., her sisters, Rosa Jarrell, Alicia Maldonado, Maria Irma Segovia and by her sister-in-law Aurora Segovia.

She is survived by her children, Maribel Alvarez, Monica Bibi Alvarez and Manuel A. "Memo" (Nora P.) Alvarez Jr.

Her grandchildren, Timothy Ryan Alvarez, Katalina O. Alvarez, Maximiliano A. Alvarez, Miguel A. Alvarez, Valentino A. Alvarez, Mateo A. Alvarez and Maya V. Alvarez.

Brothers-in-law,Alan Jarrell and Esequiel Maldonado.

Also surviving her are nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . Holy Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services will be held on a later date.
