CECILIA GLORIA CRUZ

Cecilia Gloria Cruz, 81, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

Mrs. Cruz was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for over 30 years supporting Mercy Hospital, Private Dr's office and retiring from City of Laredo Health Department in 2012. Cecilia took great pride and joy in gardening, her hobby, in which her loving family always supported. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Reymundo R. Cruz Sr., of 52 years of marriage.

Son, Carlos Adrian Cruz.

Parents, Jesus and Micaela Melve.

Brothers, Hector "Cona" Melve and Miguel Melve.

She is survived by her loving children, Monica C. (Rene) Cruz-Paez, Cynthia I. (David) Cruz-Davis and Reymundo R. Cruz Jr.

Grandchildren, Rene Javier "RJ" Paez, Nicholas Daniel Paez, Joel Alejandro Paez, Sofia Vanessa Davis and Crystal Isabel Davis.

Also surviving her are her brothers and sisters, Aida (Joe+) Davila, Calixto (Arabela) Melve, Javier (Lamar) Melve, Graciela Melve and Jorge (Ana) Melve. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . Holy Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment followed at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
