CELIA "NENA" ESPINOZA
8/6/1922 – 9/19/2017
Celia "Nena" Espinoza, 95, known to her family as Mom, Grandma, Welita and Tia Nena, was called by the Lord to her resting place in heaven, on September 19, 2017, at Laredo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Grandma was known for her great cooking and great sense of humor. She was always ready for a party. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Ms. Espinoza was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a lifelong resident.
Brothers, Alfredo (Delfina) Espinoza and Jorge (Francisca) Espinoza.
Sister, Maria Dolores Espinoza.
She is survived by her sister, Maria Eva Espinoza.
Daughter, Olga (Pedro+) Gonzalez.
Son, Alfonso (Noemi) Espinoza, from Houston.
Grandchildren living in Laredo, Texas, Rene (Rachel) Gonzalez, Connie (Cary) Zipprian, Alberto (Laura) Gonzalez, Ricardo Gonzalez.
Grandchildren living in Houston, Texas, Joann (David) Casares, Michelle (Raymond) Vera, Jonathan (Jennifer) Ramirez, Mary Gonzalez, Kay Lyn Sosa and Jeffery (Belinda) Ramirez.
15 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving her are numerous nieces, nephews, many other family members and many friends.
Ms. Espinoza's family would like to extend a special and heartfelt "Thank You" to the Physicians and Staff Members at the Laredo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their professionalism and for providing such special care.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m., Friday, September 22, 2017, departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
