Obituary

CESAR A. CASILLAS

Cesar A. Casillas, 78 years old, passed away on Saturday July 16, 2016 in Temple, Texas.

Mr. Casillas was a veteran of the Vietnam War in which he served with the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1982, He reached the rank of Master Sergent. He received numerous decorations, medals and badges during his service, some of them were the Marksman Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal w/ 1 device, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon W/5 Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal w 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, Airforce Commendation Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Master Missile Badge. He then retired after his 27 years as an Air Force Veteran and then  a 27 year retired Seton Electronics Technician.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Diana Sylvia Peña de Casillas, his daughter Leticia Maria Casillas Kappel,  sisters Consépsion Garza and Baudilia Towns,  and grandchildren Christopher, Jennifer, Crystal, Desiree, Alec, Lauren, and great-granddaughter Scarlett. Services will be held in Laredo, TX at Hernandez Lopez Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. in Laredo, Texas . Funeral services will begin departing at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be recited at 10:30 a.m. at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery with full military honors provided by the United States Air Force. HernandezLopezFH.com
