Consuelo A.
"Chelo" Montemayor
May 13, 2023
MARIA CONSUELO "CHELO" MONTEMAYOR
On May 13, 2003, Maria Consuelo "Chelo" Montemayor was released from her
fatigued body and mind and is now alive and singing happily, free of the
Alzheimer's disease that consumed her for 16 years. She is with our Lord Savior.
Glory be to God.
She was the most content when she was surrounded by her children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whether it was cooking her mouth-watering
foods like corn/flour tortillas, migas, juevos rancheros, caldos, pozole, almondigas,
nopales with tortitas de camaron, sopitas, mole, pan de azucar and so many more;
she was always happy when she was attending to her family.
Mom had many talents, one very special to her heart was singing. Especially
while doing her housework, gardening, and while taking care of us as children and
later singing to her grand/great-grandchildren. Although she could have been a
famous singer, she chose a different path when she met the man of her dreams, our
dad.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Hector Ignacio Montemayor
Sr. by her loving son Miguel Angel, her parents Juan/Nicolas Alvarez, and her
siblings: Sebastian, Jesus, and Hilaria.
Surviving her are her adoring children: Hector Jr. (Yolanda), Oscar, Hilda
(Robert Sr.), Jose (Francisca), Norma, and Sara. Her sisters Tia Tomasa, and Tia
Maria, and several nieces and nephews.
Grandchildren: Claudia (Joe), Robert Jr. "Tito", Erika (Timothy), Lizzy, Rachel
(Rick), Rebecca "Becky" (Herman), Roxy "Nana", Carlos, Armando, Jose, Hector,
Christian (Itzamara), Miguel "Mikey" and ten great-grandchildren.
Our mother was a brave, strong, and fierce woman who raised her seven
children as a single parent when she became a widow at the young age of 39.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to her doctor Armando
Hinojosa her caregivers Mari Narvaez, Norma Roycroft, and la Esperanza Home
Healthcare.
Private services will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, followed by committal
services and interment at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Oscar J. Montemayor, Jose I. Montemayor, Hector I. Montemayor, Robert "Tito" Guerrero, Robert R.J. Guerrero, Christian Garcia, Dylan Rubio and Herman Cortinas.
