CONSUELO PUENTE
Our beloved Tia Chelo went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Laredo, Texas on March 4, 1933.
Tia Chelo worked for many years at Three Sisters Department Store. She later joined LISD as a teacher Assistant. After her retirement from LISD, she worked for the evening Adult ESL Program at LCC.
Tia Chelo was a very active church member at Templo El Buen Pastor A/D. For many years she served as the church pianist, Sunday school teacher, Discipleship Leader and Director of many Christmas Programs. Her favorite scripture and hymn were Psalm 23 and "How Great Thou Art".
She is preceded in death by her parents Agustin and Angela Lozano Puente, sister Ester Puente and brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Guadalupe and Petra Puente.
Consuelo is survived by her beloved sister, Teresa P Steed (James) , and her nieces and nephews: Elizabeth Benavides, James J. Steed (Yvonne), Rev. Guadalupe Puente Jr. (Dolores), Petra Peñeyro (Marco Antonio), Maria de los Angeles Wood ( Morris) David Puente (Teresa) Esther Leija (Efrain+), Samuel Puente (San Juanita), Rev. Daniel Puente (Martha), Eliseo Puente (Irma), Roberto Puente (Evangelina), Frances Puente and numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving guests at Templo El Buen Pastor located at 302 W. San Carlos St. Friday, July 9, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and a church service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Guadalupe Puente, Jr. and Rev. Dino Espinoza. Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Templo El Buen Pastor Christian Education Department. Arrangements are under the direction of
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons North Chapel.
