CRISTINA "PIO" VASQUEZ Cristina "PIO" Vasquez,87 passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Vasquez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. Cristina "Pio" Vasquez had worked for Laredo National Bank for numerous years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Vasquez. Great-granddaughter, Joanne Yepez. Great-grandson, Jayden Rangel. Also brothers and 3 nephews. She is survived by her son, Jorge (Sara) Gonzalez. 4 grandchildren, Jorge (Yolanda) Gonzalez Jr., Claudia (Jose) Yepez, Jose Luis (Johanna) Gonzalez and Margie (Joe) Guevara. Her special pride and joy, great grandson, Ethan Briones. 27 great-grandchildren. 7 great-great grandchildren. Special thanks for all their care to Dr. Mateo Reyes and Torres Health Care, Ramon, Martha, Lupita and Jaime. Also nephews, nieces and many friends at the Lulac Haven. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
