DANIEL JAVIER CANTU
Mr. Daniel J. Cantu, 72, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at a local hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born in Laredo, Texas where he was a life long resident.
He was retired, having worked for 35 years, at Farias and Farias Custom House Brokers Inc., in Laredo.
He was also a graduate of Martin High School, Class of 1964.
He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo Cantu and Guadalupe Cantu.
Brothers, Antonio, Ernesto and Raul Cantu.
Parents-in-law, Pedro and Esther Flores.
Brother-in-Law, Raul Flores.
Also preceding him are aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by the love of his life, Norma .
His sons, Daniel J. Cantu, Jr. (Veronica) and Donato J. Cantu.
Grandchildren, Daniel J. Cantu, III, Veronica Cantu, and Deziree Faith Cantu.
Siblings, Guillermo Cantu, Jr. (Beatriz), Alicia C. Martinez (Antonio), Fernando Cantu (Veronica) and Mario A. Cantu (Tina).
Brother-in-Law, Ascencion Flores.
His only surviving aunt, Mrs. Gloria Gallardo (Roque) of San Antonio, Texas.
Also surviving him are aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018. Holy Mass will be celebrated at at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
