DANIEL CUELLAR Daniel Cuellar, 85, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. He was the son of late Mr. Felipe Cuellar and Olivia Martinez Cuellar. He was born in Laredo, Texas. He graduated from Martin High School and attended Laredo Junior College for 1 1/2 years. He was part-owner with his brother Jose J. Cuellar of Cuellar Auto Parts for 28 years. They were also owners of a Beer Distributor Business. He was a businessman and a rancher. Mr. Cuellar loved the Ranch and was a breeder of Beef Master Cattle. He was a member of the Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, also a life member of the Foundation of Beef Master Association. He owned a Beef Master Cattle operation in the family ranch in East Webb County. In 1986 he and his brother Jose were awarded the Businessman Rancher of the year award by the Webb County Soil and Water Conservation Service for clearing and seeding the ranchland and implementing a grazing system. He was also a member of the Laredo International Fair and Exposition. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association of America. Mr. Cuellar was a avid hunter. He and his late uncle Julio Martinez would gather cattle at the family ranch on horseback in the 1950's. He is preceded in death by his parents, Felipe Cuellar and Olivia Martinez Cuellar. He is survived by his Brother, Jose J. (Narcedalia) Cuellar and by his sister, Martha Cuellar (Andres F.) Segovia. Nephew, Ray Jose (Margarita) Cuellar. A special heartfelt gratitude to his caretaker, Esperanza Guevara for the special care provided to Mr. Cuellar during his illness. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
