Daniel Almazan Sr.'s Obituary
DANIEL ALMAZAN SR.
Daniel Almazan Sr., 73, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at a local hospital.
Mr. Almazan was born in Laredo Texas and had been a lifelong resident.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War Era, in which he served with the United States Army, Company B 94 Engineering Battalion, from 1964 to 1966. He was decorated with the Good Conduct Medal and received the Marksman badge for the M-14 Rifle. After his tour of duty, he returned to Laredo and continued to serve the Army in the reserves for over 25 years, with the 850th Army Reserve.
Mr. Almazan also served the Community of Laredo as a fireman. He served with the Laredo Fire Department for over 20 years, and retired as such.
He will be greatly missed by all who had come to know him.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, of 41 years of marriage, Juanita Almazan.
Brothers, Juan Esteban Almazan, Homero Almazan and Rogelio Almazan.
Parents, Hipolito and Paulita Almazan.
He is survived by his children, Daniel (Pamela) Almazan Jr., Ricardo (Lizette) Almazan, David Almazan and Adriana Almazan.
Grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Alex and Nichole.
Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 9:20 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
