DARIO "Grandpa Candy" GUTIERREZ Sr. Dario Gutierrez Sr., 79, or "Grandpa Candy" as he was known by his family, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 in Laredo, Texas. Mr. Gutierrez Sr. was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Martha Gutierrez. Sons, Fernando Gutierrez, Rodolfo Gutierrez, and Guillermo Gutierrez. Daughter, Diana Gutierrez Granddaughter, Jaida Guadalupe Castillo Brother, Pedro Dominguez He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Lina Gutierrez. Also survived by his children, Dario (Leticia) Gutierrez Jr., Gerardo (Melba) Gutierrez, Marta (Eduardo) Caudillo, Veronica (Gabriel) Briones, Sandra (Eduardo) Rodriguez. 8 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren 3 Brothers, Daniel (Maria) Gutierrez, David Gutierrez, Roberto (Maria) Villarreal. Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
