DORA DUARTE MARTINEZ Dora Duarte Martinez, 78, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Duarte Martinez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Pablo and Tomasita Duarte. Spouse, Juan Manuel "John" Martinez. Sisters, Juanita Duarte, Maria De Jesus Duarte, Belia Duarte and Beatriz Duarte Dominguez. She is survived by her children, Dora A. (Robert) Newell and Juan G. (Maria Magdalena) Garcia. Granddaughter, Carisa Rubi Leal. Brother, Manuel (Aurora) Duarte. Also surviving her are nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. A Chapel service will begin at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Deacon Jerry Morales in the funeral home chapel. Committal services and interment will immediately follow in the Laredo City Cemetery.
