Obituary

In Loving Memory of Eduardo Lara Jr.

Eduardo Lara Jr., 75, of Laredo, Texas, peacefully entered God's kingdom on January 29, 2025.

He was born on February 1, 1949, in Laredo, Texas, to Eduardo and Maria Lara.
Eduardo graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station in 1972, where he earned a
degree in engineering. With an insatiable curiosity and a passion for problem-solving, he made
his mark as an engineer, known for his logical thinking and remarkable analytical and
mathematical skills. His professional journey began at Texas Instruments in Richardson, Texas,
before he found his true calling in Brownsville, Texas. There, he worked with CTS and Zenith
Electronics Corp. In the early 2000s, Eduardo shifted his career path to education, dedicating
himself to sharing his knowledge and expertise in STEM fields with the students of PSJA ISD.
He taught at LBJ Middle School and PSJA Memorial High School, even offering guitar lessons
to students through the district's 21st Century Program.

Eduardo is survived by his daughter Vanessa and husband Marc Bergman (grandson Peyton
Malone), daughter Vianey and husband Daniel Garza (granddaughter Alexia Garza), Angela
Jardines Garcia; Martha Jardines and Carlos Elias (Amy Jardines, Vida Jardines, Santiago Elias,
and Sarah Elias), and Xochilt and Jose Gonzalez (Emmanuel Gonzales and Ezra Gonzales). He is
also survived by his brother, Ricardo Lara, and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins from the
Lara family.

Eduardo was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Maria G. Lara; brothers
Juan Lara and Pedro Lara, Sr.; and sisters Dolores Lara and Alicia L. Cron.

One of Eduardo's greatest passions was music, and it is through his love for music that he will
forever be remembered. A self-taught musician, he mastered the guitar, harmonica, keyboard,
and even tried out the accordion. Music was his language of love, and he found peace in sharing
it with his family. Eduardo's playful spirit and joy for life were reflected in the way he shared his
"blast from the past" music collections on cassettes, CDs, and eventually YouTube. He was
always ready to share a one-liner from a movie, song, or commercial, providing advice and
wisdom in a way only he could.
Though he is no longer with us, Eduardo's memory will live on in the music he loved so dearly,
and his family will carry his legacy in their hearts forever. He will be deeply missed, but his
spirit and passion will never fade.

Rest in peace, Dad. You are loved, remembered, and celebrated. Have fun dancing in heaven.
