Obituary

EDUARDO RENE SANCHEZ JR.
Eduardo Rene Sanchez Jr., 85, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 in Laredo, Texas.
Mr. Sanchez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was an active member of the Korean War Veteran's Association. He was inducted in 1951 and Honorably Discharged in 1955. He served onboard the USS Sphinx, as an Engineer, and attended a yearly reunion, in Branson, Missouri, with fellow veterans who also served onboard the ship. Mr. Sanchez was awarded with the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Sanchez enjoyed participating in the local George Washington's Birthday Parade where he waved to locals onboard the veteran's float. He was later employed with U.S Customs for many years until his retirement. He then worked for the City of Laredo's Man Power Program, for many years as well. He was a devout Catholic and an active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.
Mr. Sanchez is preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo Rene Sanchez Sr. and Olivia G. Sanchez.
Brothers, Edgardo Sanchez, Roberto (Yolanda+) Sanchez and Larry Lindenschmidt.
He is survived by his sister, Sylvia Lindenschmidt.
Nieces and nephews, Roberto Mario (Darlene) Sanchez, Sara Alicia (Hugo) Flores, Bernabe Eduardo (Monica) Sanchez, Melissa (Hector) Villescas and Jason Edward (Katie) Lindenschmidt.
Also surviving him are his grandnieces and nephews, cousins, numerous other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and A Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. at the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow in the family plot at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
