Maria Elena Morin, 76, passed away on Sunday night September 03,
2023.
Mrs. Morin was born and raised in Laredo, Texas where she was a
lifelong resident. There she met the love of her life, Petronilo Morin Jr.
and married him on March 18, 1965 at the age of 18. She went on to
build her home from scratch with her loving husband and filled their
home with hallways echoing with laughter and love. She enjoyed her life
to the fullest with her spouse, children, grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, and numerous pets. She was an outspoken woman with
humor to soften her bite. She gave lifelong lessons while cooking up hot
tortillas to her loved ones. Her home was the headquarters for all family
events, endless cookouts, and holidays. She was the family's matriarch
and everyone's partner in crime from sweet bread with coffee in the
morning to dressing up for maquinita night.
Mrs. Morin was preceded in death by her Petronilo Morin Jr., parents,
Pascual Rodriguez and Apolonia Rodriguez and brother Pascual
Rodriguez Jr. (Santa), brother-in-law Guadalupe Morin Sr. (Maria) and
brother-in-law Romeo Ramirez Sr.
Mrs. Morin is also survived by children: Petronilo Morin III (Catalina),
Bernardo (Lucila), Bernabe (Lilia), Yolanda (Isaac), Blas (Idalia),
Maricela (Carlos) and Alonzo (Melissa).
Mrs. Morin is also survived by grandchildren: Rebecca, Blas Jr.,
Yolanda, Jessica, Rachel, Yesenia, Leonor, Petronilo IV., Alejandra,
Alonzo Jr., Alessandra and Angel.
Mrs. Morin's great-grandchildren are: Oscar, Aiden and Oberyn Scott.
Surviving siblings are San Juana Ramirez and Roberto Rodriguez.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 8, 2023 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal Services and interment followed in the Laredo City Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave.
PALLBEARERS: Bernabe Morin, Carlos Cardenas, Alonzo Morin, Blas Morin Sr., Isaac Cuellar, Blas Morin Jr. and Angel Morin.
