ELIZA I. RODRIGUEZ
Eliza I. Rodriguez, 71, entered into eternal peace surrounded by her family on Monday, June 19, 2017 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Rodriguez was a lifelong resident of Laredo and was passionately committed to the education of Laredo's children. She spent her 50 year career teaching at Bruni Elementary School. Eliza was often approached by previous students and was pleased when they shared their delight with the fact that their own children were in her class.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alberto and Guadalupe Ibarra.
Brother, Eduardo A. Ibarra.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years of marriage, Conrado Rodriguez.
Children, Melissa Rodriguez and Roberto (Claudia) Rodriguez.
Grandchildren, Karina Rodriguez, Roberto Rodriguez Jr., and Kassandra Rodriguez.
Sisters, Maria Elena Ibarra and Elvira (Tom) Fitzgerald.
Aunts, Margarita Alonzo and Consuelo Bates
Also surviving her are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation for the medical staff that was involved in her treatment and sincerest thanks to everyone that kept Eliza in their thoughts and prayers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Funeral Home, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 on Saturday, June 24, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services will be held at a later date.
