ELVIRA B. VILLARREAL
Elvira B. Villarreal, 86, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Villarreal was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. She was a very giving person who, in spite of her disability, made delicious tamales and capirotada, which were enjoyed by her family and friends year round. In her spare time, she enjoyed decorating and distributing, beautifully colored Easter eggs, as well. She was known to be very devoted and faithful to her religion and will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eleuterio and Celestina Barraza.
Her beloved husband, Manuel R. Villarreal.
Brothers, Eleuterio Barraza Jr. and Victor Barraza.
Son-in-Law, Manuel Jesus Gonzalez.
Children, Paz V. Gonzalez (Arnoldo Salinas), Manuel Villarreal Jr., Celestina Villarreal Serna, Benito (Kristine) Villarreal and Veronica (Rene) Rocha.
13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Brothers, Ruben Barraza, Reynaldo (Guadalupe) Barraza and Ricardo (Rosario) Barraza.
Sister, Maria Medina.
Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.
Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitations will be limited to 40 people inside our funeral home.
It is preferred for minor children not be allowed to attend services.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 30, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal Services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
