Obituary

EMMA PEREZ

Emma Perez, 82, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at her home with her family by her side after battling Alzheimer's for several years.

She was born in Candela, Coahuila, Mexico, and moved to Laredo, at the age of 26, after marrying the love of her life. She dedicated herself to her husband and her children. Most importantly, she was a woman of God. She had an unending faith in God and a great devotion to the Virgen de Guadalupe. She was an active parishioner at Mother Cabrini Church, for many years. She was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and many prayer groups. She found peace and happiness in attending daily mass.

She is survived by her husband, of 54 years, Mario Perez, who took care of her during her illness. She is also survived by her children, Mario Antonio Perez (Yvonne), Maricela (Sergio) Tijerina, and Maria Guadalupe "Lupita" (Ricky) Hernandez, and her 6 grandsons, Benjamin, Sergio Agustin, Julian, Ricardo "RJ", Daniel, and Javier. She is also survived by her sister Enriqueta Garcia, her brother Santiago Fuentes, her beloved niece Rosaura Garcia, and many nieces and nephews and other relatives whom she loved dearly.

She was in preceded in death by her parents, Alberto and Juanita Fuentes, her brothers Margarito and Francisco Fuentes, her grandson, Marcus Daniel Hernandez, and her dear friend, Margarita Martinez.

Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, aunt, and friend leaves behind a legacy of faith and of love for God and her family. She lived a simple life and gave so much of herself to others. She instilled in her children the importance of an education. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
