Obituary

ENEDINA SANCHEZ MALDONADO Enedina Sanchez Maldonado Beloved Enedina Sanchez Maldonado, born October 12, 1920 in Villa de Garcia, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Onofre Sanchez and Guadalupe Garza Sanchez was called to her heavenly home in the presence of her loving family and friends on July 18, 2014. She now joins Ignacio Maldonado, her faithful husband of 53 years of marriage; two children; two sisters and two bothers; and daughter-in-law Cecilia Maldonado in heaven. Left to cherish and honor her memory are her children: Mario Ignacio Maldonado, Sr. (Rosa); Martin Ramiro Maldonado, Sr. (+Cecilia); Maria Guadalupe Alaniz (Victor); Irene Maldonado; Juanita Leticia Navarro (Gerardo). In addition to her immediate family, Mrs. Maldonado was also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Special gratitude to her healthcare team from Altus Hospice led by Mr. Alaniz; Dr. Compean and his care team; and providers Eppie Zambrano Ramirez and Griselda Riojas, who provided Mrs. Maldonado with exceptional care throughout the last four years of her journey on earth. Born during the Mexican Revolution, Mrs. Maldonado and her immediate family moved to Laredo, Texas, where they lived out their lives. She created a large, loving family rooted in rich Mexican culture and values. Mrs. Maldonado was admired for her great cooking and baking, laughter and zest for life. She also took great joy in spending time with family, traveling, dancing and sewing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hernandez, Lopez & Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Avenue. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral Services will begin Monday morning July 21, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. A Holy Mass will be celebrated at at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
