Obituary

ENRIQUE CASTRO SR. Enrique Castro, Sr., passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 in San Antonio at the age of 83, surrounded by the people who loved him the most and who will cherish his memory forever, his children. He was born in Dolores, Texas, August 6, 1931 to Benito and Maria B. Castro. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He had a thirty-eight year career with the Laredo Water Works System. His passions in life were spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sisters: Pablo (+) (Ernestina, +) Castro, Anselmo (+) Castro, Francisca (+) (Jesus, +) Ramirez, Engracia (+) (Marcos, +) Resendez, Maria (+) (Felipe, +) Rodriguez, Gregoria Cadena (+), Guadalupe (+) (Vicente, +) Navarro and Juanito Castro (+). He is survived by his loving wife of sixty one years, Sofia R. Castro; children, Enrique (Olga) Castro, Jr., Leticia (P. Guadalupe) Bernal, Alberto (Amanda, +) Castro, Patricia (Jim) McMahon, Roberto (Linda) Castro, Gilbert (Ismael) Castro, and Sandra (Javier) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Melissa and Celina Bernal, Clarissa (Carlos) Gonzalez, David (Cynthia) Castro, Stephanie Castro, Kacie and Stacie Cruz, Xavier, Alexis, and Anissa Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Juan Carlos (JC) Bernal, Blake and Brielle Gonzalez, and Charlie and Emma Rose Castro, brother, Roberto (Mary) Castro of Dallas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sister-in-Law, Inez Castro. The Castro Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the ICU nursing staff in the 6th floor at Baptist Medical Center in San Antonio for their excellent care our father received. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin on Friday, May 8, 2015 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.
