Obituary

ERNESTO RAMOS Ernesto Ramos, Sr., 93. During peacefulness of the early morning of Jan. 19, 2015. Our savior Jesus Christ send forth his most trusted Angel to gently escort, Ernesto home. During his lifetime, he honorably served our country after graduating from Martin High School in 1941, he enlisted in the United States Army, Serving during WW II from 1941- 1945 and received an Honorable Discharge. He worked as a service manager for the Buick and Pontiac Dealership in Laredo where he was known as "Neto." He was the owner of Border insulation Company until his retirement. He was also a member of San Martin de Porres Church. Ernesto enjoyed servicing as a booster parent for the Nixon High School Band 1965-1969, he assisted in the needs for all Band members. He loved making projects out of wood especially for the grandkids. Also enjoyed gardening, raising beautiful orchids and tropical fish. Ernesto will always be remembered for his generosity and for giving his unconditional love to all. He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Carolina Ramos, wife, Maria L. Ramos, Daughter, Graciela Griessel, sister, Eva Bousquet, Elida Alcantar, Tina Dalton, Brother, Antonio Ramos, Jr. and Miss "Tia" Maria Ramos. She is survived by Sister, Clem (Bill) Sixta ,from Colorado. Sister-in-laws, Armandina Ramos, from Fort Worth, Estela Solis, from Laredo, Mague Solis, from Laredo, Gloria (Jack) Bond, from Las Vegas, Brother in law, Zaragoza Solis, from Laredo, and Warren Bousquet. Sons, Ernesto (Elvira) Ramos, Jr., from Corpus Christi, Rene (Prissy) Ramos, from Laredo. Daughters, Mary Ramos Flores, from San Antonio, Griselda (Trinidad) Benavides, Jr., from Laredo. Son-in-law, Robert J. Griessel, Jr. Grandchildren, Robert (Tina) Griessel III., Daniel Flores, Elisa Ramos, Christine (Sergio) Fernandez, Ernesto Ramos III., Marco (Tony) Flores, Melissa Benavidez, Amy Benavidez, Christina Benavidez, Melody G. Ramos, Rene (RJ) Ramos, Jr. Great grandchildren, Robert Griessel IV., Troy Griessel, Emily Griessel, Alexis Fernandez, Tony Fernandez, Haylee Fernandez, Ethan Fernandez and Delilah Perez. Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave. Funeral services will begin departing at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
