ESPERANZA V. MARTINEZ
Our beautiful mom, Esperanza Martinez, 100 years old, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a woman full of faith, warmth and Kindness. Our home was always open, filled with joy, stories and food that brought family and friends together. She was a source of strength and support for her family and friends. We will forever carry the lessons she taught us.
Mom was born in Colombia, Nuevo Leon on September 18, 1924 and met the love of her life, our dad, Juan Martinez Jr., while visiting relatives in Laredo. They were married for over 55 years and are together once again in heaven. We can hear dad singing "Solamente una vez" to her now.
Mom was very caring and compassionate with all her family and friends. She was always ready to extend a helping hand without expecting anything in return.
She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Corral and Dr. Prado, and the the Laredo Medical Center ICU and the many nurses and staff who assisted the family, and to the Torres Home Health Services and their staff for all their care.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services and interment followed at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be; Alfredo Flores, Damasio Chapa, Rodolfo Vela, Erik Vela, Marco Flores and Jesse Flores.
Honorary Pallbearers will Sylvia, Eppie and Irma.
"We will always miss you, Mom"
