ESTANISLADO "TANIS" RODRIGUEZ SR. Estanislado Rodriguez Sr. also know as "Tanis" to his family, 78, passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 in a local hospital. Mr. Rodriguez was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He is preceaded in death by his Son Estanislado Rodirguez Jr. whom passed away in 2004. Parents, Juan and Luisa V. Rodriguez Brother, Juan Rodriguez Jr. Sister, Blasa Rodriguez He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years of marriage, Teresa De La Rosa Rodriguez. Children, Mario Luis (Sylvia) Rodriguez, Tani A (Daniel) Perales, Teresa Denise Rodriguez Grandchildren, Jessica, Mario Luis, Gabriela, Daniel II, Nicholas, Khiry Adam. Great-grandchildren, Erik, Jasmine, Isaac, and John W. Brother, Martin Rodriguez Sr. (Idalia) Sister, Herminia R. Ramirez Also surviving him are Numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Mr. Rodriguez had been employed by Firestone for over 23 years, he then became employed with the Central Welfare department in which he worked for many years. When he retired, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he adored. "Tanis" as he was known by his family, was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed The Laredo Bucks, and would attend every home game if he could. He also enjoyed The San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys and never missed a game. He was very well known throughout Laredo for his love of softball and the Laredo team that was named after him "Team Tanis". Every Sunday morning Mr. Rodriguez would attend practice and attend his games. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
