FABIAN JORGE FERDIN April 23, 1957 - August 3, 2012 Fabian Jorge Ferdin passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the young age of 55. Mr. Ferdin was born and raised in Laredo, Texas and was known as one of the greatest legends in the mighty Tiger football team (1971-1975) . "Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger" He was a very intelligent, hardworking, and family oriented man. Everything that he did was for his children and his family. His strive for life was to have only the best for his children, no matter how hard he had to work for it. He always put others before himself even through his roughest and sickest times. Mr. Ferdin was a great father, husband, brother, uncle, son, and friend. One of his greatest aspects was his light of joy when he saw his children succeed in sports, band and dance. He enjoyed having an active part in everything his children did. His pride and joy were his children. All Fabian wanted was for his family to have an aspiring life with the fulfillment in an education that will help guide them through life in a way in which they would not have to struggle. Fabian Ferdin was the king of trivia, he seemed to know everything and because of his intelligence and knowledge he was a hero to his children and a legacy that will never be forgotten. He will always live through his family and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Tommie G. and Carlos T. Ferdin. Sisters, Yolanda Carrillo and Karla Frieda Ferdin. He is survived by his loving children, Brenda Abigail Ferdin, Fabian Jorge Ferdin Jr., Andrew Thomas Ferdin, Isabella Frieda Ferdin and Thomas Anthony Ferdin. Brothers, "J.J." Ferdin, Charles T. (Gayle) Ferdin, Rolando Ferdin. Mother of his children, Rosa M. Castillo Ferdin. Brother-in-law, Marcelino H. Carrillo. Nieces, Yoly Carrillo and Sylvia Carrillo. His dear friend, Stella Coz. Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Isaias Garza and Dr. Eduardo Miranda for the care given to Mr. Ferdin during his illness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 5 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
