FAUSTINO P. RUIZ. Faustino P. Ruiz, 78, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 in a local hospital. Mr. Ruiz was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Army. During his enlistment he was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ines and Maria Ruiz and also by a grandson, Gerardo "Jerry" Lira, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Francisca Ruiz. Children, Esther Rodriguez, Armando (Rocio) Rodriguez, Adriana Ruiz and Mary Rachel (Roland) Sanchez. Grandchildren, George Rene Aguirre Jr., Susana Rodriguez, Jorge Armando Rodriguez, Adrian Rodriguez, Imelda Rodriguez and Armando Rodriguez Jr. Sisters, Maria Perfecta Judd and Gloria Sandoval. Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. A Liturgy of the Word will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 officiated by Deacon Anastacio Bernal in the funeral home chapel. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.
