FELIX O. VELA Felix O. Vela, 78, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at a local hospital. Mr. Vela was a resident of Laredo, Texas for most of his life. He is survived by his parents, Francisco and Zulema Vela. Brother and Sister, Astolfo Vela and Consuela Vela. He is survived by his wife, Maria R. Vela. Children, Felix Vela, Jr., Armando Vela and Rosalinda V. Hernandez. Siblings, Manuel (Aurora) Vela, Francisco Vela, Jorge Vela, Hortencia (Tomas) Estevis, Maria (Miguel) Godines, Margarita Vela and Guadalupe (Enrique) Gladys. His Step-children, Ricardo (Diana) Beltran and Luis Enrique Beltran. A Beloved grandson, Ricky Beltran. His other grandchildren, Monica Solis, Luis Alberto Solis, Andres (Teresa) Solis and Andrew Eli Solis. Also surviving him are numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services will be held at a later date.
