FRANCISCO "PANCHI" CRUZ Francisco "Panchi" Cruz, 66, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at a local hospital. Mr. Cruz, was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Virginia Cruz. 2 brothers, Victor Cruz and Mario Cruz. Niece, Maricela Montiel and by his nephew, Victor Cruz, Jr. He is survived by his children, Erica Ashley (Victor) Cruz-Alanis, Jose Cruz, Ernesto Cruz, and Esmeralda Cruz. His siblings, Lydia (Fidel) Martinez, Gloria (Jesus) Gonzalez, Juan Antonio (Delia) Cruz, Socorro (Javier) Salazar, Josefina (Hector) Herrera, Graciela (Raul) Palacios. Also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 pm in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. A Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Veteran's Section of the Laredo City Cemetery.
